From Pain to Purpose
There are moments in life that shake us to our core—moments of loss, grief, and pain that leave us wondering if we’ll ever recover. My journey to writing The Power to Heal was born out of such moments, and I want to share with you why this book carries so much of my heart.
From Loss to Calling
In the year 2000, I lost my brother. The pain was deep, and just when my family and I were learning to live with his absence, another tragedy struck. In 2006, my second brother was murdered. Fear overwhelmed me. I isolated myself, fell into depression, and felt as though my life had come to a halt.
But it was there—in the middle of despair—that the power of God touched me. He reminded me that He never wastes our pain. Instead, He can use it to bring healing and restoration not only to our lives but also to others.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3
That realization gave birth to my calling. I began leading small groups where I shared God’s Word and His power to heal the soul. Over time, those groups grew, and I witnessed people arriving hopeless and broken, only to be restored and transformed. Many of them went on to become leaders and pastors.
Healing Beyond the Surface
As I walked through my own process of healing, I realized that receiving Jesus instantly makes us new in spirit, but our soul—our mind, will, and emotions—still needs continual renewal.
It’s like moving into a new house: beautiful on the outside, but still needing cleaning and order on the inside. That’s why David prayed:
“Examine me, Lord, and try me; test my mind and my heart.” — Psalm 26:2
Healing the soul is essential because what is inside us affects how we think, feel, and act. The Holy Spirit wants to lead us into freedom and transformation through God’s Word.
“Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2
God’s Protection in the Midst of Danger
In 2007, my children and I survived a violent attack meant to take our lives. Instead of sinking into fear, I experienced God’s protection in a very real way. His Word became alive:
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me.” — Psalm 23:4
That moment deepened my trust in Him. I understood in a new way that no weapon formed against us will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Why I Wrote The Power to Heal
Over the past 25 years, I’ve seen countless people serving God faithfully but still carrying heavy burdens from their past—rejection, abandonment, painful words, or traumas they never asked for.
This book was written to help you find freedom from those weights. It has three clear objectives:
Inner Healing: Identify and surrender to God the wounds that still affect you.
Spiritual Strengthening: Develop a deeper, more personal relationship with Him.
Life Purpose: Discover who you are in Christ and walk in His plan for your life.
Whether you feel broken or think you have it all together, this book is for you. God wants to take you deeper—to heal your heart, restore your soul, and help you live in freedom.
The Promise of Transformation
What if I told you that the power to transform your life is already within you?
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” — Ephesians 3:20
That is the heart of The Power to Heal: a journey of healing, restoration, and freedom. My prayer is that as you read it, you’ll invite the Holy Spirit to minister to your soul and lead you into the abundant life God has prepared for you.
